Ham On Rye’s product launch called the “most exciting of the decade” Ham On Rye Theater™ Wins Highest Industry Honors
November 18, 2000 - Atlanta, Georgia. At the closing bell of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions conference, Ham On Rye Technologies’ Ham On Rye Theater stood as the most recognized and awarded product of the year, winning Best New Product and the Image Award for Best of Show, the top prize among over 1,300 exhibitors.
To add to the list of accolades, Ham On Rye’s new product attracted over 2,800 IAAPA attendees to the booth, based on actual records from card reader and game software tracking files. This represents more than 10% of the entire IAAPA attendee population.
“Our booth was constantly crowded, and we had regular lines of 30 to 50 people throughout the show, even though our high-capacity Ham On Rye Theater can turn nearly 100 people per hour,” stated President Randy Sprout. “This is similar to the great response from consumers we have seen in actual operations, where the attraction averages revenues of $2,000 to $3,500 per day. We greatly appreciate the warm welcome we have received from the electronic amusement industry.”
IAAPA attendees enjoyed multiple software titles from Ham On Rye’s growing library. The $165,000 Ham On Rye Theater ships with four acclaimed software titles, including Crossbones & Scalawags™ where players search for treasure on the high seas, CastlEscape™ for a rousing interaction with ghosts in a haunted castle, TRIVeality™ the hilarious trivia game starring Trivia Boy, and It’s Virtually Christmas™, a heart-warming interactive show for young children and their parents.
In addition to rapidly manufacturing theaters to fill orders around the world, Ham On Rye’s talented Game Lab members are beginning design work on a completely new series of software titles.
According to Susan Sprout, Executive Vice President and leader of Ham On Rye’s Game Lab, “We never stop innovating. If you were impressed when you visited our booth at IAAPA 2000, then please keep your expectations high for what you will see from us every year for the next decade and beyond. We have launched an entirely new genre of electronic entertainment, with our patented combination of live performance, immersion, and interactivity. Our mission is for revolutionary enjoyment for the whole family.
